You Just Found Out Someone You Love Is Transgender

The Transition Channel

Published July 31, 2017

Join me as I walk you through the stages of grief (Established by Dr. Elizabeth Kubler-Ross) that a person goes through when they find out a person they love is Transgender. Watch this video If you’d like some helpful tips on how to process this and how to help the person you love. Also around the 3 minute mark say hi to Freddy the Fly. He was especially annoying when trying to shoot this video. I made some videos and have since worked with people in over 20 different countries. I also have worked with nearly 300 people since I began years ago. Some of these people spend their entire transition with me, others just have 1 conversation about something specific, like how to navigate an issue with a partner. If you are finding my videos helpful, just imagine working with me. I've been a psychotherapist for over 20 years. I specialize in sexual abuse and other types of physical and emotional trauma. I've been inspired by the growth and courage I've witnessed in my clients. I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to do this work in the world. I'm now doing video counseling for those who reside in Illinois.

  1. You can find a therapist in your state by going to psychologytoday.com. Start with your zip code then along the left side you can chose your insurance, issue (transgender if appropriate) and other options. My best to you!

  2. After watching many of your videos , I finally think I understand what I must do . On May 6 2020 , I declared a rebirth and I am so happy . Went shopping to get some basics to start my transition . Where can I go from here with some help ? Please contact me if you can .

  3. Alexis,
Have been trying to get hold of you, have watched your videos on the transition channel, and I would like to schedule a appointment with you.
